The other day I had a call from my mom the other afternoon that made my tear up.
She told me that she and my dad were going to sell their old farmhouse! I could not suppose what I was hearing.
This farm new home has been in the family for three generations, and we all have so many amazing memories out there. She told myself and others that it was too valuable to heat the venue in the wintertime since it was never insulated correctly. I told her that my hubby and I would be willing to pitch in some money to get the new home insulated, but she tried to brush off my comment. She said that they spend more money heating their new home each month than they do on all of their other bills combined. I told my hubby about the call, and he instantly drove over to their new home and talked to them about insulated the new home and installing a better Heating and A/C method all around the house. It would save them a lot of money in the long run! My dad basically said that it was not worth the time or money and told my hubby that they were moving regardless. I am still heartbroken. My hubby and I have discussed buying the farm new home ourselves to keep it in the family, however we just do not have the finances right now. My sister said that she would talk to her hubby about picking up the old farm home as well, and both of us really want to keep it in the family even if we have to invest some money into insulation and a new gas furnace to go with it.
