There is something ironic about wanting to get away from the heat and humidity of the south when there are so many people who want to escape to it.
- I find it absurd because I have lived here my entire life, and I am still not used to it.
I hate that it is warm all year round, and most times it is just hot and miserable. There is no amount of air conditioning that can overcome the heat and humidity of the south. I would do anything to be able to move away from here and I would be glad to let someone take over my home and job if I could trade with them for awhile. I don’t think they would want to stay beyond a year. I get up in the morning and I run from my home to my car, only to run from my car to the office. I don’t want to be away from the air conditioning for any length of time. I will also run into the grocery store, and I hope my car hasn’t heated up completely by the solar heat of the sun, so my groceries are bad before I get home. My car is so hot some afternoons, that I can burn my hand trying to buckle my seatbelt. I don’t go outside very often, because the heat is so intense that it takes your breath away. I know that I should be used to the heat and humidity, since I was born here, but I don’t think that is possible. I can’t live without air conditioning and even the slightest hint of it not working, I am calling the HvAC company.
