My task requires myself and others to visit homes in the area, to repair & upgrade any Heating, Ventilation & A/C problems.
Some homeowners are a dream to work with. They schedule their biannual Heating, Ventilation & A/C repairs on time & have little to no problems. Most of the time, these homeowners are welcoming & provide us no problems. On the other hand, I’ve visited some homes that have been an absolute nightmare. For example, I got a call about a apartment that said their air conditioner wasn’t working correctly & their bi-weekly energy bills were changing suddenly. I showed up at the apartment a few minutes early, but nobody answered the door. I called the number they gave, & they said they would be at the apartment in a few minutes. I sat in their driveway for a full hour before someone finally showed up. The client got out of the motorcar with fast food & a fresh Starbucks Latte without apologizing. When he let myself and others in the house, he let his giant dog loose & he was running around barking for several minutes. Through the chaos, I asked to see his air filter. She had no idea where his air filter was kept, & left myself and others to find it on my own while he ate in the kitchen. As an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional, I found the air filter & was dumbfounded to see the dirty air filter on the ground with no upgradement in his A/C system. When I asked the client about it, he erupted & started yelling at myself and others for insuating he was dumb. As you can imagine, he still hasn’t paid myself and others for my time.
