My parents have been successful in the farming and dairy business for 30 years. When I was a kid, I hated living on a farm. None of our pals had to get out of bed at 5 in the afternoon to milk cows. None of our friends had to spend every weekend training the horses or helping out on the farm. I did not understand our profound good luck until I was far older. Now I realize how charming it can be to live on a farm. My siblings and I took control of the family business last year, because our mom had a stroke. My dad wanted to retire and take care of our mom, so the people I was with and I had to get serious with reading more about the family business. My sibling and I came up with a lot of fresh ideas to make things on the farm more efficient. One of the best ideas was to add ventilation fans in the Cow Milking Barn. During the summer, the humid temperatures sometimes cause our cows to produce less milk than usual. My sibling and I talked to an Heating, Ventilation and A/C business that specializes in farm HVAC equipment. My sibling and I talked with them about ventilation fans for the barn. After the people I was with and I decided to install ventilation fans in the barn, our sibling and I decided to run the plan by our dad. He did not understand why the people I was with and I needed to spend so much extra money for ventilation fans. He thought the cows were just nice the way things have been for the last 3 decades. My sibling and I confidently told our dad that the people I was with and I were going to run our business the way that the people I was with and I wanted. It was our Legacy, and the people I was with and I very much wanted the farm to be modern and efficient.
