I have 3 girls, and as a single mom and a feminist, I want the best for my girls and all women alike! Since I can’t change the world, what I have to do is raise my 3 girls to all be strong, smart, & resourceful so they can have the best possible possibilities for success in their future all together. It is for that reason I have mentioned the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C industry to them as an option, because they are experiencing a shortfall on workers & need people desperately, but like any modern day industry, Heating, Ventilation, & A/C knows it has to evolve, & that means getting more girls involved. It has been an all male industry for too many years and that needs to change! They have been actively recruiting females to become certified Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialists, & that presents a great opportunity for my 3 teenagers in the future. I want them to think that going away to school is one path to take, however studying a skill or a trade such as heating & cooling repair is another, equally viable, path to take for them if they wanted to do it. I am not a pushy person in the least & have no intention of making any of our 4 teenagers get into the a/c trade, I just want them to think it’s an option, however working as an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C specialist doesn’t have to just be a work, with the pay & benefits packages that some companies offer, it is a real career opening for aspiring young women for sure all over the planet if they fight for it.
