Clogged HVAC unit

Lately the part of the country I live in has been getting seriously disappointing storms. I know that the people I was with and I are in hurricane season, however it would be nice to get a little bit of a break from the terrible weather. Roughly a week ago, I saw that  my neighborhood would be getting another disappointing storm in a few days. So, as usual everyone started to freak out & the people I was with and I headed straight to the store to purchase supplies. After a couple of hours all the stores were out of water & bread. I knew this meant that really soon the gas stations would all be out of gas also. I rushed up to the gas station, hoping to fill up my tank & get some gas for my generator, but, just as I expected the gas station was out of gas entirely. I knew this was going to be a serious issue if the people I was with and I ran out of power because that meant I would not be able to utilize the generator to run things like the refrigerator & the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device. When the storm eventually hit land, the people I was with and I lost power in no time. I heard our Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device shut down & the people I was with and I were without the air conditioning system. Several days later when the people I was with and I got the power back, I tried to turn on our Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device with no luck. I reached out to a local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company that was able to come over that day. Then the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C worker said our outdoor control component was clogged with debris from the storm & that’s what was causing the setbacks. She cleaned out the outdoor component & the people I was with and I had our air conditioning device back again within the hour.
