Back when I was in middle school, I decided that I wanted to get a job, and my parents weren’t really glad about it at first. They thought that I should stay focused on my school and that school should be my only job. They said that I would have the rest of my life to work, although I actually wanted to make my own currency. But I was pretty good at the interview process, so I got a lot of job offers. The one I chose was perfect for a teenager, though. I worked in a Cinema at the concession stand. I loved helping customers plus serving up buttery popcorn plus drinks and candy. I also liked flirting with cute boys who came in to see films. My only problem with working in the theater was that the building was actually old. And it had some dire issues with its heating plus cooling system. I usually worked during the summers when the temperatures were super warm outside. I lived in the southern section of the country, so it wasn’t odd for the outside weather temperature to climb all the way up to the mid-nineties… Unfortunately, the seasoned Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C system in the theater would try really hard to overcompensate for the heat outside by running the air conditioner almost constantly. The manager would keep the thermostat set at around seventy degrees, however the air conditioner just wouldn’t turn off! The manager ended up calling an air conditioner maintenance crew to come out and do some maintenance on the unit, but I still froze through the entire summer anyway.
